SOMERS, CT, May 12, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Justin Brewer, entrepreneur and Sacred Heart University alumnus, is raising awareness about a growing challenge facing young professionals and student-athletes: the lack of structure and clarity as they transition from school to the working world.

Drawing from his experience as a four-year NCAA Division I soccer player and business leader, Brewer is encouraging individuals to build discipline early and apply it beyond sport.

"You don't get results by accident," Brewer said. "You earn them through repetition and focus. That's true on the field, and it's true in your career."

A Common Gap After College

Many graduates struggle to maintain structure once formal schedules disappear. According to the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), over 60% of recent graduates report feeling unprepared for the daily demands of full-time work.

At the same time, studies show that fewer than 1 in 3 young professionals follow a consistent daily routine after college, which can impact productivity and long-term growth.

Brewer believes this gap is especially noticeable for former athletes.

"In college, your schedule is set for you," he said. "Practice, classes, film sessions. When that goes away, it's easy to lose direction."

Turning Discipline into a Lifelong Skill

Brewer points to his time at Sacred Heart University as a defining period. As a student-athlete, he balanced a demanding academic schedule with daily training and competition.

"You had to be organised or you fell behind fast," he said. "There was no room for guessing."

He recalls early morning film sessions where small mistakes were reviewed in detail.

"They would stop everything over one missed step," Brewer said. "That taught me to pay attention to details, even when no one else is watching."

He now applies that same mindset to business.

"If you don't understand a system, you can't control it," he added. "That applies to your time, your work, and your decisions."

Why Discipline Matters More Than Ever

The modern work environment presents constant distractions. Research shows that workers lose up to 2.5 hours per day due to interruptions and lack of focus. Without strong routines, productivity drops quickly.

Brewer believes the solution is not complex systems, but simple habits.

"Most people underestimate what steady effort can do," he said. "Big change usually comes from doing small things well, over and over."

What Individuals Can Do Today

Brewer encourages students, athletes, and young professionals to take simple, practical steps:

Set a fixed wake-up time each day
Block one hour for focused work without distractions
Review one area of your schedule weekly
Track three priorities instead of ten
Stay physically active to maintain energy and focus
Write down goals instead of keeping them in your head

"If your routine slips, everything slips," Brewer said. "Structure keeps things steady."

A Call to Action

Justin Brewer is calling on current students and recent graduates to take ownership of their time and habits now.

"Start small," he said. "Build one routine. Stick to it. Then build another. That's how you create momentum."

He emphasises that long-term success is not about major breakthroughs, but consistency.

"You don't need everything figured out," Brewer said. "You just need to start and keep going."

Justin Brewer is an entrepreneur and Founder of Greenhub. A graduate of Sacred Heart University, he was a four-year NCAA Division I soccer player before beginning his career in sales and marketing. He later founded Greenhub in 2019, focusing on helping businesses simplify complex systems. Brewer's work centres on discipline, clarity, and building strong habits that support long-term performance.
