RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., July 13, 2021 /3BL Media/ - Lenovo has been recognized as a top scoring company and “Best Workplace for Disability Inclusion” in Disability:IN’s 2021 Disability Equality Index (DEI). Achieving a score of 100%, Lenovo demonstrates leading disability inclusion practices in its commitment to an inclusive culture, visible support from company leadership, accessible workplace and employment practices, community engagement initiatives, and supplier diversity programs.
A joint initiative of the American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD) and Disability:IN, the DEI is a comprehensive benchmarking tool designed to assist organizations in building inclusion roadmaps.
“Lenovo’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion seeks to narrow the digital divide and to promote access to technology – including the more than one billion individuals around the world who live with a disability,” says Calvin Crosslin, Chief Diversity Officer and president of the Lenovo Foundation. “Our participation in the Disability Equality Index keeps us accountable for the programs, policies, and initiatives that we have in place to ensure that we continue to increase representation of and improve the employee experience for people with disabilities within Lenovo, and prioritize accessibility and inclusivity in the design of our products and solutions for a universal user experience.”
Since 2019, Lenovo has partnered with disability rights lawyer and advocate, Haben Girma, as the company’s first ever Accessibility and Inclusion Advisor, and signed its commitment to putting disability inclusion on the business agenda with The Valuable 500. Last year, Lenovo welcomed three new employee resource groups in support of disability inclusion across North America, EMEA, and Asia Pacific and established the Product Diversity Office as the authority on inclusive and accessible product design. Through the Lenovo Foundation, Lenovo partners with non-profits and charitable organizations around the world to extend support of disability inclusion into global communities.
