James Hamrick to Serve as Vice Chair, Janine Jovanovic to Serve as Tech Vice Chair
The Real Estate Technology & Transformation Center (RETTC) today announced the appointment of Kristy Simonette, Senior Vice President of Strategic Services and Chief Information Officer at Camden Property Trust, as Chair of the RETTC Steering Committee. RETTC also announced James Hamrick, Senior Vice President of Information Technology at Gables Residential, as Vice Chair and Janine Jovanovic, Chief Executive Officer at LeaseLock, as Tech Vice Chair.
The appointments mark the launch of a bold governance evolution at RETTC, designed to elevate emerging voices and ensure a balanced, dynamic leadership model that reflects the future of rental housing innovation. As Chair, Simonette will preside over both the Steering Committee and the newly formed Executive Steering Group.
“RETTC’s new volunteer leadership team will empower us to lead with focus, diversity and agility,” said RETTC Executive Director & Chief Advocacy Officer, Kevin Donnelly. “Kristy, James, and Janine are each deeply-respected, visionary leaders who represent the spirit of innovation RETTC stands for—and they’re the right team to guide us into our next chapter.”
“I’m thrilled to serve as RETTC’s first official Chair,” said Simonette. “Technology is transforming how we build, operate, and live in housing. I’ve seen it firsthand at Camden, where a commitment to technology is a commitment to superior resident service. Yet, this work is bigger than any one company. It’s about reimagining what’s possible for our nation’s renters, our communities and all of real estate technology. I can’t wait to get started alongside such an incredible leadership team.”
RETTC announced the leadership change during OPTECH, the organization’s flagship conference and the industry’s premier technology and innovation event, which draws approximately 3,000 senior executives from top real estate and technology companies.
