FORESTVILLE, Wis. - Saint Peter’s Lutheran Church is inviting residents and visitors across Door County, Sturgeon Bay, Kewaunee County, and surrounding communities to attend its Holy Week and Easter services in Forestville.
Under the theme, “Experience the Week that Changed Everything,” the church will observe the central events of the Christian faith—from Christ’s entry into Jerusalem to His crucifixion and resurrection—through a series of reverent and historic worship services.
The full Holy Week and Easter schedule is as follows:
- Palm Sunday — Sunday, March 29 at 10:00 a.m.
- Maundy Thursday — Thursday, April 2 at 7:30 p.m.
- Good Friday — Friday, April 3 at 7:30 p.m.
- Easter Sunday — Sunday, April 5 at 10:00 a.m.
Palm Sunday will include a children’s palm procession and song during worship, recalling Jesus’ arrival in Jerusalem. Maundy Thursday will focus on the institution of the Lord’s Supper and will include the traditional stripping of the chancel, reflecting the solemn events of Christ’s betrayal and suffering.
The Good Friday service will feature a full reading of the Passion account and will be offered bilingually in English and Spanish.
Easter Sunday will celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the hope of forgiveness and new life. Visitors are encouraged to register for a free gift at the Easter service at https://doorcounty.church/easter/ .
“As the pastor at Saint Peter’s Lutheran Church, I personally welcome you to join us,” said Pastor Christopher Jackson. “Holy Week is when we remember the events that changed everything—the suffering, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.”
