United Airlines' Hydrogen-Electric Engines Bring Us One Step Closer to Net-Zero Air Travel

By: 3BL Media

SOURCE: United Airlines Inc.

DESCRIPTION:

Today, we're the largest airline to invest ZeroAvia's hydrogen-electric engines, putting our customers in line for net-zero travel.

Hydrogen-electric engines use electricity created by a chemical reaction in a fuel cell to power an electric motor instead of burning fossil fuel. Because no fuel is burned, there are no climate-harming emissions and no carbon is released into the atmosphere. The ZA2000-RJ engine is expected to be used as a new power source for existing regional aircraft.

This gets us one step closer to achieving our goal to be 100% green by 2050 without relying on traditional carbon offsets.

We'll start our (hydrogen-electric) engines by 2028. To learn more: uafly.co/3dKNssC
