Global Startup Awards Honored Best Innovators at its Ninth Annual Event Hosted in Copenhagen

The world’s most innovative individuals and companies were honored and awarded in the heart of Copenhagen where Spirii, a Danish startup, was announced as the winner of Best GreenTech, Morten Bødskov, Minister for Business of Denmark, gave the award on stage. 

 On March 29, Global Startup Awards hosted its ninth annual award show at the iconic Circus Building in Copenhagen. The event celebrated the world's top entrepreneurs and recognized 11 winners in various categories.

The Danish Minister of Industry, Business, and Financial Affairs, Morten Bødskov, attended the event and gave a speech, highlighting the importance of entrepreneurship in today's economy. 

"Events like this shed light on the many innovative ideas that entrepreneurs worldwide have to offer. The event emphasizes that Denmark is a strong, green entrepreneurial nation and that we have a substantial talent pool. Our national ambitions are clear: We strive to make Denmark the best country for entrepreneurs. The Global Startup Awards is an excellent example of Danish creativity that stimulates the entrepreneurial stage and pushes forward the agenda of starting something new. At the same time, the goal is to attract talent, contribute to more investments and create new jobs" - says Mr. Morten Bødskov. 

He also presented the "Best GreenTech Startup" award to Spirii, which emerged as the winner after fierce competition from startups worldwide. Additionally, this season witnessed a higher involvement of finalists’ national embassies and diplomatic missions in Copenhagen where representatives of 9 embassies attended to show support to their national finalists and to the international entrepreneurial ecosystem as a whole.

The Global Startup Awards competition was a long journey for many talented entrepreneurs who qualified from national and regional rounds to the Grand Finale in Copenhagen. The 11 winners of the Global Startup Awards received the recognition they well deserved by having them announced on stage as global winners joined in one room with 70 national and international investors and VC’s.

This year, 500 attendees enjoyed the Global Grand Finale Award Show, making it a huge success for the danish ecosystem as a whole by hosting key ecosystem participants coming from +42 countries representing more than 235 companies and startups.

The evening was a grand affair, featuring a 3-course dinner, live music and entertainment, keynote speakers, panels, and an after-party. The Global Startup Awards is a global platform that aims to find, support, and connect the top 1% of each local startup ecosystem worldwide. The event brought together the world's most forward-thinking entrepreneurs, sustainability experts, and industry leaders.
