Sinclair’s Multicast Networks Set New Ratings Records in November

CHARGE, Comet and ROAR deliver breakout growth with top-ranked nights, network-best performances, and major gains across key demos

Sinclair’s free, over-the-air multicast networks CHARGE, Comet and ROAR delivered exceptional ratings performance throughout November, driven by a combination of hit programming, franchise expansions, broadened national distribution, upgraded channel positions, and increased household reach across key DMAs. Across the month, each network delivered standout viewership gains.

Supported by continuous national footprint expansion, including upgraded broadcast positions, new multicast affiliations, and inclusion on leading vMVPDs such as YouTube TV and Hulu + Live TV, Sinclair’s multicast portfolio continues to attract larger, more engaged audiences, solidifying its leadership in the multicast space.

CHARGE:

CHARGE continued its strong upward trajectory in November, powered by crime-franchise loyalty and the successful rollout of additional premium procedural content.

Since joining CHARGE’s weekday lineup, Criminal Minds has driven significant ratings growth in access month-over-month, up +67%% P25-541 On November 29, Criminal Minds powered CHARGE to its highest night in network history, averaging 73,000 P25-54 and 123,000 P35-642.

This momentum follows CHARGE’s addition of all seasons of the multi-Emmy® and Peabody Award-winning drama Homicide: Life on the Street, marking the series’ return to broadcast television, growing 25-54 ratings 36% since launch in September3.

The new CHARGE 6pm - 1am line-up of Criminal Minds, Law & Order: Criminal Intent and Homicide: Life on The Street delivered a 13% month over month increase among P25-544, reducing the median viewer age by 2 years5, and making the network the go to destination on free broadcast TV for premium police procedurals every night of the week.

Comet:

Comet, the home for fans of science fiction, fantasy, horror and supernatural, delivered one of its strongest months in network history, supported by fan-favorite genre programming and franchise movie blocks.

XENA: Warrior Princess, which joined the network in October, has continued to build momentum, up +19% in P35-64 and +12% in P50+ month two, while also outperforming last quarter’s time period.6

Comet’s Mega Movie nights also delivered standout results, with Star Trek Into Darkness and The Addams Family posting some of the network’s biggest primetime movie audiences of the year. On November 28, Comet ranked #1 among all multicast networks7 for the night among P18–49 and P25–54, driven by its blockbuster lineup of The Addams Family, Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, and Star Trek Into Darkness.

Comet’s November momentum follows its 10th anniversary celebration, underscoring the network’s enduring appeal among fans of science fiction, fantasy, horror and the supernatural. Since launch, Comet has grown household coverage by more than 80%8, strengthened its footprint through channel upgrades on CBS O&Os, and expanded national distribution through its inclusion on YouTube TV and Hulu + Live TV — making it one of the first multicast networks carried by leading vMVPDs.

ROAR

ROAR delivered significant gains in November, continuing its ascent as the only multicast network dedicated to contemporary comedy.

America’s Funniest Home Videos, which premiered in early November, posted strong growth, +67% P35-64 and 25% P50+, which combined with Weakest Link, delivered ROAR’s highest rated month ever in Daytime P50+9, with growth of +41% month-over-month and year-over-year10. And, on November 27, ROAR set an all-time network record as its AFV Thanksgiving Day Marathon delivered the highest single day ever, averaging 69,000 P2+ 9am–5pm.11

Last month, ROAR added Hollywood Game Night and Weakest Link, to its lineup, which includes previous seasons of Saturday Night Live, Whose Line Is It Anyway?, AFV and Key & Peele, creating a robust schedule that continues to attract broad, multi-generational audiences.

“This has been a breakout month for our multicast networks, which continue to demonstrate the strength of focused, fan-driven programming. The growth we’re seeing across demos underscores the power of our genre-driven strategy and the value it’s delivering right now for audiences and advertisers,” said Adam Ware, Senior Vice President of Growth Networks.
