BROOKLYN, NY / ACCESS Newswire / July 6, 2026 / Marquis Who's Who is proud to honor Kareem Collins for his distinguished contributions to healthcare, fitness, cancer exercise, Parkinson's disease programming and inclusive wellness. Mr. Collins' recognition reflects more than two decades of dedication to exercise science, patient-centered coaching and adaptive movement for individuals navigating complex health challenges. His leadership continues to help clients move forward, one step at a time.

Mr. Collins is a self-employed entrepreneur and cancer exercise specialist affiliated with Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Since 2020, he has built a specialized practice focused on post-cancer exercise, helping clients improve range of motion, strength, coordination, stability, breathing and body awareness after treatment. His work includes virtual sessions for clients across the United States, including as far as New Mexico, as well as in-person training for local clients.
In an interview with Marquis Who's Who, he shared that his approach is both technical and deeply personal. During sessions, Mr. Collins often asks patients to count aloud or speak while performing exercises, encouraging steady breathing and helping them reconnect with their bodies after chemotherapy, radiation, surgery or other treatments. He tailors each session to the individual, using stretching, stability work, coordination drills and strength training to help clients move safely while building trust in their own capabilities.
Mr. Collins' path into cancer exercise was shaped by loss and purpose. After his mother died of metastatic brain cancer in 2019, he used the 2020 quarantine period to study through the Cancer Exercise Training Institute, focusing on the physiological effects of multiple cancers and the postural and muscular changes that can follow cancer treatment. That advanced training helped lead to his recruitment by Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where he began serving as a cancer exercise specialist in 2023.
In addition to his cancer exercise work, Mr. Collins is a fitness coach with The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, supporting young adults with autism through specialized coaching. He has also been a Parkinson's exercise program instructor through 92NY, Mount Sinai Morningside and Mount Sinai West since 2014, working extensively with older adults managing neurological conditions. His long-standing work with the Himan Brown 60 Plus Community at 92NY includes a boxing program he created in 2024, which was later featured in a Wellness Wednesday segment on PIX11 New York TV channel.
Mr. Collins' background also includes service as a personal trainer, exercise instructor and coach at Long Island University, New York Sports Club and related fitness organizations throughout the New York City metropolitan area. Earlier in his career, he conducted research at Long Island University on hypertension and conventional exercise protocols for younger and older adults. He continues to coach boxing and track and field, adapting his instruction to meet clients where they are physically and emotionally.
His academic foundation includes a Bachelor of Science in kinesiology and exercise science from Brooklyn College. He has continued his professional development through certifications and coursework in cancer exercise, inclusive fitness, adaptive fitness, arthritis-friendly walking programs, human movement science, neurological conditions, prehabilitation, rehabilitation and exercise as part of recovery from chronic illness.
Mr. Collins' own health journey has strengthened his connection with the people he serves. After being diagnosed with neuromyelitis optica, a rare autoimmune condition affecting the central nervous system and optic nerves, he experienced transverse myelitis that impacted his legs and limited his ability to run and jump. Rather than step away from his work, he adapted. His return to demonstrating exercises after hospitalization became a source of inspiration for patients who saw him model resilience in real time.
In 2026, Mr. Collins was inducted into America's Best in Medicine for his contributions to cancer exercise. That same year, he launched "New Journey with Chronic Illnesses," a podcast created to share insights, encouragement and community with those living with chronic illness.
Looking ahead, Mr. Collins is working toward opening a specialized gym and rehabilitation center that brings together oncology exercise, Parkinson's programming, autoimmune recovery support, boxing, balance training and other adaptive modalities in one inclusive environment. He is guided by his life motto, saying, "Where there's a will, there's a way."
"Kareem Collins exemplifies the caliber of health care and fitness professional Marquis Who's Who is proud to chronicle," the editorial team stated. "His work in cancer exercise, adaptive fitness and inclusive movement reflects a career defined by consistency, compassion and a belief that recovery can include strength, courage and hope."
