Mr. Olds' professional success has been sustained by academic achievements, including coursework in the electronic systems technician program at Lincoln College of Technology in Indianapolis in 2007. Mr. Olds also earned an associate degree in computer network systems from ITT Technical Institute in 2012, followed by a bachelor's degree in business management from Western Governors University in 2022. Additionally, he has obtained various certifications, including project management professional certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI), among others.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Olds was a low-voltage technician at Gallaher & Associates Inc. from 2007 to 2012. He joined the Pilot Company in 2012 as an analyst in store systems, a role in which he served from 2012 to 2015. He was a senior analyst from 2015 to 2018, before becoming a specialist in store systems in 2018 and a manager in 2020.
Between 2022 and 2023, Mr. Olds took a hiatus from the Pilot Company, joining isolved, a software HCM technology leader. He served as a technical project manager for the company, further strengthening his skills in managing complex technical projects.
Beyond Daily Responsibilities
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Mr. Olds is involved in various industry-related organizations, including as president of the PMI East Tennessee chapter since 2025. Inspired to learn more about his field, his journey with the chapter began as the director of programs before he grew into serving as the vice president of programs. This chapter serves as a hub of advice for those in the field, while Mr. Olds additionally aims to help support the community overall. His dedication to his field and contributions to the chapter earned him recognition as the Volunteer of the Year by the chapter in 2023. Additionally, he received an honorable mention in the U.S. for Mentor of the Year by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
Mr. Olds' dedication to community service is highlighted through his involvement with civic-minded organizations. Since 2023, he has been the president of the Northshore Grove Homeowners Association Inc. and provided mentorship opportunities with Amachi Knoxville from 2009 to 2015. His contributions at Amachi were recognized, with the organization naming him Mentor of the Year in 2010. He credits his success to the values he learned from his mother, who was raised in Germany, and his stepfather, who has deep ties to the Polish community. His family emphasized the importance of both community connection and hard work. In his free time, Mr. Olds enjoys spending time with his family and two dogs.
