Kitchen Remodeling SEO LLC has published a guide titled "Local AEO Practices for Kitchen Remodeling Businesses," which outlines how kitchen and bath remodelers can get named when homeowners ask AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews for hiring recommendations.
The guide responds to findings in SOCi's 2026 Local Visibility Index, which analyzed roughly 350,000 locations across 2,751 multi-location brands. The study found that ChatGPT recommended only 1.2 percent of those locations, compared with a 35.9 percent appearance rate in Google's local 3-Pack. The research examined multi-location brands rather than single-shop remodelers, but the gap points to a broader shift in how homeowners discover local businesses.
The SOCi data also showed that ChatGPT-recommended locations averaged 4.3 stars, and that ChatGPT and Perplexity reported business contact details correctly only about 68 percent of the time. Those figures underscore how listing accuracy and review quality shape whether a remodeler appears in AI answers.
The AEO Guide for Kitchen remodelers covers four areas. The first addresses consistent listings across Google, Yelp, Facebook, Houzz, Bing, and Apple. The second focuses on reviews that name the specific project and the town where the work took place. The third explains how location pages should answer local questions on cost, permits, HOA approval, and FEMA flood rules. The fourth introduces a monthly self-check using five AI prompts that remodelers can run to see how they are represented.
Mike Goldstein, founder of Kitchen Remodeling SEO, said strong performance in traditional search does not automatically transfer to AI-generated answers. "A remodeler can hold the top spot on Google Maps and still be invisible when a homeowner asks ChatGPT who to hire, because these tools assemble answers from listings, reviews, and third-party sources rather than ranking positions," Goldstein said. "That is why listing accuracy has to come first. If the details do not match across every platform, the AI has no consistent record to trust, and it moves on to a competitor."
Goldstein added that the guide reflects patterns the company has tracked across its client work. "The businesses getting named share a few habits, including reviews that mention the actual town and project type, and location pages that answer the questions homeowners are already asking," he said.
The company has also expanded its library of kitchen remodel marketing videos, which walk remodelers through the concepts covered in the written material. Additional context appears in the company's guide to local AEO for kitchen remodelers, published on their website.
