Molly Mae has developed her artistry through years of sessions as a singer, topliner, and writer, steadily shaping her unique voice. Most notably with her 2025 track ‘DJ Wipe My Tears,’ which garnered nearly 3 million streams on Spotify alone. Producing much of her own material, she merges emotional honesty with a distinct, edgy sound.
“I started writing ‘Kamikaze’ during a quite chaotic time in my life that, to be honest, I can barely remember,” Molly Mae shares. “Creating music has always been my escape, a way to channel whatever I’m feeling and turn it into something less triggering. I wrote the first draft of the chorus back in 2024 and came back to the song months later to write the rest and finish it. It was one of those tracks I didn’t expect much from, but I kept being drawn back to it because it reflected exactly how I felt. ‘Kamikaze’ to me at that moment summed up the feeling of knowingly stepping into something risky and potentially destructive and doing it anyway. Emotional risk, obsession, danger mixed with euphoria.”
Zevan Frostad adds, “We are thrilled about our new partnership with 1000 Watts and look forward to working with Molly Mae.
