SOUTH PARIS, Maine - Sept. 12, 2026 - Twin Town Glass has extended its custom shower door design and installation service to the Sunday River corridor, serving homeowners, innkeepers and property managers in Bethel, Newry, Greenwood and neighboring Oxford County communities from its shop at 217 Main St. in South Paris.
The expansion covers frameless shower enclosures along with semi-frameless and framed systems, hinged and sliding doors, tub sliders, walk-in showers, and neo-angle, curved or otherwise irregular layouts. Glass is cut and tempered at the company's own facility rather than pulled from stock sizes, which allows installations to follow the out-of-square walls and uneven tile common in older camps, farmhouses and renovated rental properties throughout the corridor.
Each project begins with an in-home consultation reviewing the shower base, walls and tile, followed by detailed measurements and photo documentation. The company then recommends a design suited to the layout and plumbing, fabricates the glass, and completes the installation with floor protection, sealed joints, final clearance checks and a walkthrough with the homeowner. Frameless work is built at a minimum thickness of 3/8 inch, with 1/2 inch preferred, and is available in clear tempered, low-iron or frosted and satin-etch glass. Hardware finishes include chrome, brushed nickel, matte black, oil-rubbed bronze, polished brass and satin gold. Optional protective coatings are offered to reduce spotting and simplify cleaning, and coverage extends to the glass, the hardware and the installation workmanship.
Demand in the corridor is shaped by its mix of year-round residences, second homes and lodging properties near the ski area, where bathroom renovations are often scheduled between seasons and a failed or leaking enclosure can take a unit out of service.
"Homeowners up the corridor were driving to us or waiting weeks for someone to come measure, and that is a long time to have a bathroom torn apart," said John Emerson of Twin Town Glass. "We measure the opening ourselves, cut and temper the glass here in South Paris, and install it. Every one of these is built for one bathroom, because almost none of these showers are square."
The expansion follows a similar move on the automotive side of the business, when Twin Town Glass brought mobile auto glass repair and windshield replacement to Hartford, Maine, in July.
