Fifth annual event convenes as shifting donor expectations reshape charitable giving
Ren, the platform for philanthropy with a mission to make philanthropy at scale possible, returns as a founding sponsor of the DAF Giving Summit, bringing together leaders from philanthropy, wealth management and nonprofit sectors for three days of discussion on the future of charitable giving. Taking place Sept. 23–25, the DAF Giving Summit convenes more than 450 attendees and 42 speakers across more than 20 sessions. This year’s agenda covers the next chapter of donor-advised funds (DAF) growth, modern charitable payments, next-generation donors, artificial intelligence, advisor enablement and where DAFs fit in the broader giving economy.
“We believe in a world where generosity always finds a way to do good. That belief is why we’ve supported the DAF Giving Summit from the beginning,” said Joe Fisher, President and CEO of Ren. “Five years in, we’re grateful to every advisor, DAF sponsor, wealth management firm and charity that has come to the table to make it what it is today.”
As founding sponsor, Ren is joined by 34 other sponsors across philanthropy and wealth management, including presenting partner Morgan Stanley GIFT, visionary sponsor DAFgiving360, and influencer sponsors such as Give Interactive, Sterling Foundation Management, CAF America, Foundant, Realty Gift Fund, Vanguard Charitable and Foundation Source.
The summit opens as $124 trillion in wealth is projected to change hands through 2048 – $105 trillion to heirs; $18 trillion to charity – according to Cerulli Associates. That transfer is already underway, and wealth-holder expectations are shifting with it. More people want to become donors, and existing donors want to give in more meaningful ways, driving demand for more holistic financial advice. Advisors and the firms behind them are bringing philanthropy into planning conversations earlier.
“The DAF Giving Summit creates space to challenge convention and ask the hard questions about where the industry goes next,” said Kari Hernandez, Chief Growth Officer of Ren. “It brings together organizations that may compete in the market, but share a responsibility to keep improving how DAFs work. That kind of collaboration is how we get more charitable dollars in motion into the hands of organizations putting them to work for the public good.”
