The FDA-Cleared, Open-Configuration Semi-Rigid Ring Extends More Than 20 Years of Memo Technology to Surgeons Who Prefer an Open Annuloplasty

Corcym, a global medical device company dedicated to cardiac surgery, today announced the first-in-human implant of Memo 4D Curve™, a semi-rigid open-configuration annuloplasty ring for mitral valve repair. The procedure was performed by Michael Ibrahim, MD, PhD at UVA Health University Medical Center.

Memo 4D Curve broadens the Memo mitral repair platform to both open and closed configurations. Developed in collaboration with cardiac surgeons, it brings the Memo technology - a Nitinol-based semi-rigid annuloplasty design with more than 20 years of clinical heritage - to an open configuration, giving surgeons who prefer an open ring access to the platform's proven semi-rigid performance.

Designed to preserve the natural three-dimensional motion of the mitral annulus while providing the support to remodel it, Memo 4D Curve is available in sizes up to 42 mm — addressing the full spectrum of mitral pathology, from standard degenerative disease to the most dilated annuli.

The first implant was performed by Dr. Ibrahim, a robotic cardiac surgery lead, reflecting Corcym's focus on minimally invasive and robotic approaches.
