Wesley Carroccio named Executive Director and Jim Walsh appointed Director of Community Engagement as InsuranceAUM enters its next chapter

InsuranceAUM™, affiliated with The Institutes®, the premier community of insurance investment leaders, today announced the appointment of Wesley Carroccio as Executive Director and Jim Walsh as Director of Community Engagement. Carroccio will assume her new role later this month, succeeding Lynde O’Brien, who is retiring after serving as Executive Director since 2025. The additions strengthen InsuranceAUM’s leadership team as the organization continues to expand its community, educational offerings, industry events, and resources serving insurance investment professionals.

Carroccio joins InsuranceAUM with more than 25 years of experience working with institutional investors and nonprofit organizations, bringing extensive expertise in strategic development, institutional relationship management, organizational leadership, and investment management. Most recently, she served as Managing Director and Director of Strategic Initiatives at Brockenbrough, where she led client development and relationship efforts for the $4.3 billion investment management firm and helped guide strategic initiatives supporting its foundation, endowment, and nonprofit client base.

Throughout her career, Carroccio has worked closely with boards, executive leadership teams, investment committees, and institutional investors. Her previous roles include Managing Director of Client Development at Verger Capital Management and Head of Member Outreach Services at TIFF Investment Management, where she led a team supporting over 750 nonprofit member organizations representing approximately $11 billion invested in TIFF investment vehicles.

As Executive Director, Carroccio will lead InsuranceAUM’s strategic direction and execution across its core areas of membership, community engagement, education, events, and media while working closely with The Institutes and its affiliates to support the organization’s continued growth.

Walsh joins InsuranceAUM from The Institutes RiskStream Collaborative, where he has served as Director of Sales since 2024. In that role, he led membership growth, retention, and engagement strategy for the insurance industry membership consortium, including development of its member value proposition and strategies for member acquisition and retention.

Walsh brings extensive experience in business development, revenue operations, client engagement, team leadership, and relationship management across multiple industries. As Director of Community Engagement, he will focus on strengthening InsuranceAUM’s relationships with insurance Chief Investment Officers and other investment and finance professionals, while also supporting sponsor engagement and helping expand the broader InsuranceAUM community.

Alongside its leadership appointments, the organization is also introducing a subtle but meaningful evolution of its brand, transitioning from InsuranceAUM.com to InsuranceAUM.

What began as a digital destination for insurance investment insights has evolved into a broader community connecting insurance investment professionals through educational content, industry events, professional development, peer exchange, and access to investment expertise.

Removing “.com” from the primary brand name better reflects what InsuranceAUM represents today: not simply a website, but a community and industry resource built around the needs of insurance investment professionals.

The InsuranceAUM.com web address will remain as the organization’s digital home, while InsuranceAUM will serve as the primary brand name across communications, events, education, and community initiatives.

The leadership appointments and brand evolution reflect InsuranceAUM’s continued focus on bringing insurance investment professionals together to exchange ideas, strengthen relationships, expand their knowledge, and navigate the evolving investment landscape.
