Company named “AI Software Development Solution of the Year” in the 2026 AI Breakthrough Awards
Mend.io, a leader in AI application security, today announced the appointment of three senior leaders to its executive team: Asaf Saar as Executive Vice President and Chief Product Officer, Gil Regev as Executive Vice President and General Manager of AI, and David Earhart as Chief Revenue Officer. These strategic additions further deepen Mend.io’s executive bench as the company accelerates innovation across its AI security layer, reinforcing its commitment to securing modern AI-driven applications throughout the software development lifecycle.
As EVP and Chief Product Officer, Asaf Saar will lead Mend.io’s product strategy with a focus on redefining how organizations secure both traditional software and AI‑generated systems. Drawing on three decades across engineering, DevOps and large‑scale product leadership, Saar will guide the evolution of Mend.io’s platform architecture to meet the demands of an AI‑accelerated development world, where enterprises need unified visibility and control across the code layer and the emerging AI layer.
As General Manager of AI, Gil Regev will focus on advancing Mend AI, the foundation for discovering, assessing and securing AI components across the software development lifecycle. He will lead the strategy and execution of capabilities across AI supply chain visibility, behavioral testing, and runtime protection, helping organizations govern the full AI lifecycle across both AI-generated code and embedded AI behavior.
As Chief Revenue Officer, David Earhart will lead Mend.io’s global go-to-market strategy and revenue growth initiatives across its application security and AI security offerings. With more than 25 years of experience across security and systems management, Earhart brings deep expertise in scaling enterprise security organizations, driving sales transformation, and developing strategies that optimize sales execution, accelerate growth, and expand market impact.
"Mend.io is focused on securing the intersection where modern software risk actually lives: in the code, in AI-generated code, and in the space between code and the AI layer," said Azi Cohen, Co-Founder and CEO of Mend.io. "As AI becomes deeply embedded in how business-critical applications are built and shipped, security can no longer sit at the edges of the development process. Asaf, Gil, and David bring the experience and leadership needed to help us scale a unified approach to AI security that matches the speed and complexity of modern development."
The appointments follow a period of continued momentum for Mend.io, including its recent recognition as “AI Software Development Solution of the Year” in the 2026 AI Breakthrough Awards program. The award highlights the company’s differentiated approach to securing AI-enabled applications across the development lifecycle, including AI component discovery, continuous behavioral testing, system prompt hardening, AI Security Posture Management (AI-SPM) and AI-BOM generation.
As enterprises continue to operationalize AI across critical software systems, Mend.io is expanding its platform to help security and engineering teams move from fragmented point solutions to a unified model of governance and protection across both application and AI risk.
