Partnership emerges from foundation's mission to honor Timmy's legacy through food allergy awareness and research
The Food Allergy Science Initiative (FASI) is honored to announce a $10,000 gift from the Be Like Timmy Foundation, presented following the foundation's Valentine's Day community event held Saturday, February 14, at Love Farms Cape Cod.
The Be Like Timmy Foundation hosts events throughout the year to raise awareness about food allergies while honoring the memory of Timmy Howard, whose legacy continues to inspire positive change within the scientific and communities. They are dedicated to saving lives and inspiring change through education, collaboration, and expanded access to life-saving treatments for those living with food allergies. This latest gift will directly support FASI’s mission to accelerate the development of life-changing therapeutics for people living with food allergies.
"We are deeply moved by the Be Like Timmy Foundation's commitment to funding research that will ultimately save lives," said Carlos Bosques, CEO of FASI. "Their community event brought together families, researchers, and advocates united in the belief that we can create a safer future for the millions affected by food allergies. This generous gift will help us advance promising treatments from the lab to patients."
As FASI celebrates its ten-year anniversary in 2026, this partnership exemplifies the growing momentum and community support that has fueled a decade of groundbreaking research and therapeutic development in the food allergy space.
At Saturday's event, Dr. Bosques shared updates on the latest food allergy research developments with attendees, highlighting the critical need for continued investment in therapeutic solutions. The foundation's work extends beyond food allergy awareness to include advocacy for organ donation, reflecting Timmy's lasting impact as an organ donor.
"The support we received at our Valentine's event was overwhelming," said the Be Like Timmy Foundation. "Partnering with FASI allows us to channel that community energy into real scientific progress. We're proud to support research that could change the lives of so many families living with food allergies."

About Be Like Timmy Foundation
The Be Like Timmy Foundation was established to honor the memory of Timmy Howard, a 22-year-old recent graduate of the University of Rhode Island who tragically passed away on May 24, 2025, from a severe anaphylactic reaction to peanuts—just one week after graduation.
Timmy grew up in Southborough, Massachusetts, where he attended Algonquin Regional High School and discovered a lifelong passion for sports, especially ice hockey. He cherished his close-knit circle of friends from his neighborhood cul-de-sac and his Phi Kappa Psi fraternity brothers. His happiest moments were often the simplest: long talks with his sister on the beach, skateboarding, dancing, or cheering on the Bruins, Celtics, and Patriots with friends. He spent summers at Sandy Island Family Camp on Lake Winnipesaukee and enjoyed hunting and fishing with his dad, while sharing his mom's love of dancing and animals, often helping her foster dogs.
In life, Timmy gave his heart to everyone. As an organ donor, his heart was given through New England Donor Services to save the life of a teenage boy after his passing, and at least three other people received lifesaving organ donations—a wonderful gift from a heart-shattering loss.
The Be Like Timmy Foundation channels grief into purpose by raising awareness about food allergies through community events and research partnerships, working to create positive change so that no other family has to experience such a devastating loss.
