Swimply Expands Beyond Summertime Pools, Launches “Igloos” for Fall and Winter Experiences

New off-season category offers hourly access to private indoor pools, saunas, hot tubs, man caves and more

Swimply, the world’s largest online marketplace for connecting homeowners with consumers seeking private, local experiences, today announced the launch of Igloos, a new category that opens the door to fall and winter recreation rentals. With Igloos, owners of indoor pools, saunas, hot tubs, heated pools, cozy backyards, “caves” and other fun and relaxing spaces can share their unique retreats by the hour—offering guests access to private, clean, and uncrowded escapes without the long-term commitment or cost of ownership.

Since its founding, Swimply has helped thousands of people across the country enjoy private backyard pools and outdoor spaces. Igloos builds on that momentum by extending Swimply’s marketplace to fall and winter offerings, empowering hosts to monetize their underutilized spaces year-round and giving guests a new way to unwind, recharge, and connect with friends and family during the colder months.

In a beta test last off-season, from September, 2024 to May, 2025, nearly 100 Swimply hosts earned over $10,000 and top earners made close to $100,000, validating the new fall/winter concept. At launch, Swimply customers now have access to 1,500 Igloo offerings nationwide.

“Swimply has always been an iconic summertime brand, bringing people together by democratizing access to luxury private spaces, but now we’re taking that same magic into the fall and winter months—when people need warmth, connection, and shared experiences the most,” said Bunim Laskin, CEO of Swimply. “With Igloos, we’re expanding our mission, making it possible for anyone to enjoy a serene sauna session, a cozy hot tub evening, or a refreshing heated swim—without crowds, memberships, or travel hassles.”

The launch of Igloos underscores Swimply’s commitment to reimagining local leisure and wellness through the sharing economy. By providing safe, private alternatives to gyms, spas, or public facilities, Swimply continues to give people more control over how—and where—they spend their time.

“The best time at our indoor heated pool is during the fall and winter months,” said Kristen Bala, a Swimply host in Harvard, Massachusetts. “The feeling of being able to swim and enjoy a summer atmosphere, with a warm fire going and if the snow happens to be falling outside, it’s all the more magical. Igloos is great for homeowners like me, helping to offset expensive utility costs while making use of a space that might otherwise go unused.”

About Swimply

Founded in 2019, Swimply is a marketplace that connects owners of underutilized private amenities like pools and sports courts with people seeking to gather, engage in activities, and enjoy local amenities. The company is trailblazing the experiential-based sharing category and creating an entirely new income stream for property owners with spaces that are otherwise used sparingly. For users, Swimply is disrupting the market and providing an option for individuals who may not have access to certain facilities or amenities.
