Carenet Health Announces the Formation of its New Shared Services Department

Carenet Shared Services Will be Led by Executive Vice President Michael Thomas

Carenet Health, a leading provider of 24/7 and on-demand patient engagement solutions, today announced it has formed a new Shared Services department to enhance the quality of work across the Carenet enterprise as part of the company’s ongoing commitment to operational efficiency and effectiveness. Carenet Shared Services will encompass workforce management, training and development, continuous improvement, facilities and real estate, procurement and vendor management, and contract management.

The company’s new organization will be led by Executive Vice President of Shared Services Michael Thomas, who was recently promoted to this new role. Since joining the company in 2021, Thomas has been an asset to Carenet Health, having played a pivotal role in establishing the Commercial Services Organization in 2022. He brings to his new role over 20 years of experience in healthcare and has successfully driven revenue for and improved the performance of multiple organizations, including UnitedHealth Group, Blue Shield of California, and Health Net.

“Carenet is very pleased to announce this strategic reorganization of our resources which will reinforce our focus on training and workforce management at the executive level,” said Chief Operating Officer Christopher Rogers. “Under Mike’s exceptional leadership, this realignment will enable our service delivery team to strategically focus on client management, operations, and market-facing digital/SaaS offerings, while also further enhancing our delivery capabilities.”

In addition to previous executive roles at UnitedHealth Group, Blue Shield of California, and Health Net, Thomas has also held several officer-level roles within startup companies across a range of industries and he began his career as a manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Thomas earned a master’s degree in accounting from the University of Michigan, and holds several professional certifications in accounting, auditing, IT infrastructure, real estate, project management, and process improvement.

“I’m very excited to lead the newly formed Shared Services group as we strive to continually improve the industry-leading products and services our clients have come to expect from Carenet,” Thomas said. “My team and I look forward to helping Carenet achieve its goal to elevate the healthcare consumer experience, modernize engagement and accessibility, and position our clients for success.”
