First American Earns Top Score in Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Corporate Equality Index for Sixth Time

—Company earns a score of 100 and is designated a “Leader in LGBTQ+ Workplace Inclusion”—

First American Financial Corporation (NYSE: FAF), a premier provider of title, settlement and risk solutions for real estate transactions and the leader in the digital transformation of its industry, today announced that the company earned a score of 100 on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2023-2024 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), the nation’s foremost benchmarking survey and report measuring corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ+ workplace equality. First American has earned top marks in six consecutive editions of the CEI.

“Earning this recognition reflects the respect and inclusivity our people demonstrate in their relationships with each other, our customers and the communities we serve every day,” said Ken DeGiorgio, CEO, First American Financial Corporation. “The diversity and collaborative spirit of our people continues to fuel our leadership position within the title and settlement services industry and is foundational to our world-class culture.”

The 2023-2024 CEI rates companies on detailed criteria falling under four central pillars – non-discrimination policies across business entities, equitable benefits for LGBTQ+ workers and their families, supporting an inclusive culture and corporate social responsibility. By satisfying all the CEI’s criteria and earning a top score of 100, First American was named a recipient of the Equality 100 Award: Leader in LGBTQ+ Workplace Inclusion.

“For well over two decades, businesses have played an important role in furthering LGBTQ+ equality by centering employee needs and voices when it comes to workplace inclusion,” said RaShawn “Shawnie” Hawkins, senior director of workplace equality at the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. “While there is much more work to be done, year-over-year growth in CEI participation is evidence of a business community that recognizes the responsibility and value in upholding equity and inclusion.”
