Practice combines manual FUE, individualized treatment planning and selected technology as part of its hair-restoration services

New York Hair Transplant (NYHT) has announced its continued focus on a physician-led approach to hair restoration, combining individualized treatment planning, manual follicular unit extraction (FUE), medical hair-loss management and postoperative care.

The practice, led by Alexander Roth, MD, evaluates patients based on factors including hair-loss patterns, donor density, hair characteristics, medical history and individual treatment goals. NYHT also offers ARTAS iX robotic technology for selected procedures when the practice determines it is appropriate.

"Our approach begins with the patient rather than with a particular technology," said Dr. Roth. "The treatment plan should reflect the individual's hair characteristics, goals and long-term considerations."

NYHT schedules one hair-transplant procedure per day, allowing the physician and surgical team to oversee the major stages of the procedure, including consultation, donor harvesting, recipient-site creation, graft placement and follow-up.

Individualized Hairline and Graft Planning

Hair restoration involves decisions about hairline design, graft placement and the direction and angle of transplanted follicles. NYHT says its approach considers the patient's existing hair pattern and facial characteristics when planning treatment.

Dr. Roth also emphasizes the importance of considering future hair loss when developing a treatment plan rather than focusing solely on the number of grafts transplanted.

"The objective is to develop a treatment plan that is appropriate for the patient rather than simply maximizing the number of grafts," Dr. Roth said.

The practice provides manual FUE and ARTAS iX robotic FUE. Patients are evaluated individually to determine which approach is appropriate for their circumstances.

Patient Comfort and Anesthesia

NYHT also describes its approach to anesthesia and patient comfort during hair-transplant procedures.

The practice uses local anesthetic protocols, including lidocaine-based techniques, according to the individual procedure and patient needs. The practice says its pain and anesthesia protocols are supervised by Dr. Anna Roth, an anesthesiologist with training in acute pain and regional anesthesia.

The practice offers medical and nonsurgical approaches for hair-loss management, including PRP, laser-cap therapy, scalp micropigmentation (SMP), minoxidil, prescription DHT-blocking therapies and personalized topical treatments where appropriate.

The practice also offers eyebrow and beard restoration.

NYHT says treatment recommendations depend on individual circumstances and that transplantation may not be appropriate for every patient. In some cases involving diffuse hair loss or limited donor availability, medical or nonsurgical approaches may be considered instead.

The practice also offers selected exosome-based protocols as elective adjunctive options. NYHT notes that exosome products are not FDA-approved treatments for hair loss.

NYHT emphasizes that hair restoration can involve both transplantation and efforts to preserve existing hair.

Treatment planning may consider factors such as the patient's pattern of hair loss, donor-area characteristics, age, existing hair density and potential future progression.
