Did 4 billion die in the great flood during Noah's time?
Director Tim Chey's new movie 'The Flood: End of Mankind' addresses this.
LOS ANGELES, CA / ACCESS Newswire / December 31, 2025 / Hundreds of extras will be deluged in water in Timothy Chey's film remake of Noah's Ark entitled: 'The Flood: End of Mankind.'
"Many Bible scholars believe that 4 billion people may have perished in the great flood," said Chey. "They're basing this on the genealogies of Adam and their calculations point to possibly 4 billion was the population at the time. I know it sounds crazy."
Currently there are 8.2 billion people as of 2025.
'The Flood: End of Mankind' is based on the true events in the Book of Genesis in the Bible and looks at three days before the flood and what Noah did to warn others.
Kevin Sorbo heads the cast and plays Noah along with background talent that will be left behind after the Ark's doors are shut.
"This is God's judgment that happened during Noah," Chey continued. "And the next judgment will be Christ's return."
The epic film releases nationwide in October 2, 2026 on 3,000 theaters.
The film team sought out pastors to help make the film Biblically-correct in every way. The script took over seven years to write.
"We wanted to mirror today's society," said Chey, "and it's fascinating how Jesus said as in the days of Noah so it will be in His return. Anyone who has lived through the 1980's remembers a time when there was almost zero mass shootings. Now it's like every day."
Kevin Sorbo previously starred in Chey's 'The Firing Squad'.
‘The Firing Squad' was released in over eight hundred theaters nationwide in August 2024 and opened #9 at the box office nationwide in U.S.
The Lord destroyed the entire earth through the flood, but spared Noah and his family due to Noah's righteousness.
Chey's recently completed film, 'Christmas Eve' opens nationwide in theaters in December 2026. The film had test screenings throughout the country already.
Chey has also written and directed over 18 faith-based movies including 'Freedom' (Cuba Gooding, Jr., William Sadler, Sharon Leal) that was shot on the Amistad for Showtime and also produced and directed Sony Pictures faith-based 'Slamma Jamma' (Michael Irvin, Chris Staples) along with 'The Islands', '20 Minutes', 'Journey to Hell', 'Epic Journey' TV series for Daystar TV which took him to over 29 countries with his wife Susan as producer about people who found Christ in extraordinary circumstances.
Chey is a Harvard and USC alumnus and also a pro bono trial attorney for churches and faith-based organizations. He's won seminal cases in Federal and State court.
