On May 5th, The International School of Hospitality (TISOH) commemorated 20 years of advancing the hospitality industry with a vibrant celebration, held in the Primrose Ballroom at the Aria Resort and Casino, Las Vegas. The event, themed “Past, Present, and Future,” honored the institution’s decades-long contributions to hospitality education while setting sights on what lies ahead.
The evening began with a cocktail hour highlighting the founding of TISOH through a visual narrative. This was followed by a presentation of the school with brief keynote remarks that celebrated industry colleagues from the Nevada Hotel & Lodging Association (NHLA) and the National Association for Catering and Events (NACE). Guests savored a thoughtfully curated menu, including a chilled vichyssoise and a signature Chicken Leg Lollipop—each dish reflecting TISOH’s ethos of simple yet elevated hospitality.
Tim Lam, Executive Director of TISOH, addressed attendees, sharing gratitude for the many supporters who have shaped the school’s story. “This evening represents more than a celebration; it reflects the collaboration and dedication that have sustained TISOH throughout the years,” Lam remarked. “We are deeply grateful for the industry supporters, faculty, students, alumni, and association partners who have been instrumental in achieving our mission.”
Special recognition was given to key associations, including the Nevada Hotel and Lodging Association, National Association for Catering and Events, Southern Nevada Hotel Concierge Association, TISOH Alumni & Friends, Las Vegas Wedding Chamber of Commerce, Nevada Hotel & Lodging Foundation, The Timothy S. Y. Lam Foundation, Association for Talent Development- Greater Las Vegas Chapter, NACE- Las Vegas Chapter, Agence Consulaire de France a Las Vegas and the Foundation of NACE. Leaders from these and other organizations in attendance were acknowledged for their enduring partnerships.
The celebration spotlighted TISOH’s commitment to education through innovative programming that empowers hospitality professionals at all levels. From certificate programs to the esteemed Executive Diploma in Hospitality Operations, TISOH continues to shape careers and strengthen teams within the industry.
The evening also featured a tribute to TISOH’s partnership with the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training (ACCET). Dr. Donnell Bayot, Director of Academic Affairs, welcomed ACCET leadership and highlighted the standards of excellence emphasized through this collaboration. ACCET Commission Chair Peter Mikhail closed the tribute with a celebratory toast to the continued success of TISOH and its community.
The evening continued with guests being invited to the Veranda to enjoy live entertainment, gourmet dining stations, and social opportunities. The celebration was coordinated by Lenny Talarico of Lenny Talarico Events.
