(Matthew Du, NewsUSA Reporter) - If you're in the mood for some cherry blossoms, you don't have to fly all the way to Japan to see some. Instead, you can plan to go to San Diego's Japanese Friendship Garden sometime between February and April. 150 trees in the park can bloom during that season.

The Japanese Friendship Garden is in Balboa Park. It symbolizes camaraderie between San Diego and Yokohama in Japan. Sights in the friendship garden include traditional architecture. If you're not set on cherry blossoms, various azalea and camellia species might interest you. There is also a koi pond with fish handpicked by The Koi Club of San Diego.
