(Matthew Du, NewsUSA Reporter) - New York City and District Council 37 announced on January 17, 2024, that they are rolling out a 4-day workweek pilot program. Eligible employees who opt for a 4-day schedule should still have the same hours as their 5-day counterparts.

The previous iteration of this pilot program was for allowing employees to complete their daily tasks remotely. The new initiative has been in the works since February of 2023, intending to offer flexibility to NYC talents who do not have this opportunity to work from home.

Studies have shown that a 4-day workweek provides an enhanced work-life balance, boosts productivity, and cuts operational expenses.
