Premier Missouri Marijuana Company Highlights Growth Fueled By Adult-Use Market
VIENNA, MO - (NewMediaWire) - June 17, 2024 - Hippos Cannabis, Missouri’s premier, modern cannabis company curating fresh experiences at retail locations throughout the state, announced strong first-quarter 2024 results driven by robust retail sales and customer growth. Additionally, Hippos enjoyed substantial increases in revenue sales on 4/20, the industry’s best known cannabis holiday.
Hippos’ dispensary revenue in the first quarter of 2024 increased by 44 percent over the first quarter of 2023, and the Company’s customer count increased 61 percent over that same timeframe. Particularly noteworthy is the performance in February and March, showcasing nearly double-digit growth in comparison to the corresponding months of the previous year. This growth coincides with Missouri's introduction of adult-use cannabis sales in February 2023, exemplifying how state legalization initiatives can fuel business prosperity.
“The remarkable growth experienced by Hippos Cannabis in Q1 2024 highlights a compelling case for the success of businesses when states embrace recreational cannabis legalization,” said Nick Rinella, CEO of Hippos. “We're excited to see what the future holds for the state of Missouri's cannabis industry, and are proud to be on the frontlines of supporting safety, efficacy and innovation in the space.”
Hippos’ recent multi-store 4/20 event across Columbia, Springfield, and Chesterfield not only marked a revenue triumph, but also united the local communities, inviting customers, neighbors and media to join in games, giveaways, music, and prizes.
"We've celebrated numerous milestones, constantly pioneering award-winning products, fostering job creation, and championing meaningful causes like the 'Puck Cancer' charity game, dedicated to advancing cancer research and education,” Rinella said. “Our team is committed to continued product innovation in 2024, and will be sharing new brand launches and partnership news that support greater patient and customer access to top-of-the-line cannabis in the state.”
Total 2023 cannabis sales in Missouri surpassed $1.3 billion, according to cannabis trade association MoCannTrade, with Cannabis Business Times reporting cannabis sales in 2024 are expected to surpass $1.4 billion.
