-- The new service gives travel businesses access to live flight status, aircraft position, arrival estimates and operational alerts through a single integration.

FlightNerve has launched a real-time flight data platform for companies whose services depend on the movement of commercial flights.

The platform is designed for travel technology providers, chauffeur companies, meet and greet operators, destination management companies, hotels, event organisers and other businesses coordinating services around passenger arrivals and departures.

FlightNerve brings flight schedules, live status, aircraft position, routes, airport information and operational changes into one API. A business can search for a flight by number and retrieve its latest available state before departure, while it is airborne and after arrival.

The objective is not simply to display flight information. FlightNerve is intended to help companies use that information within booking, dispatch, passenger communication and airport operations.

Planning around the actual flight

For a chauffeur or meet and greet company, the scheduled arrival time is only the starting point.

A flight may depart late and recover time in the air. It may leave on schedule but arrive late because of congestion or a longer route. A terminal, gate or baggage belt can change shortly before arrival. In more serious cases, the flight may be cancelled or diverted.

Each change can affect a separate part of the passenger service.

A chauffeur company may need to delay a vehicle dispatch, reassign a driver or avoid unnecessary airport waiting. A meet and greet provider may need to reposition an agent. A hotel may have to change a shuttle departure, while an event organiser may need to update the expected arrival of a speaker or delegate.

FlightNerve follows the flight throughout its journey. Before departure, it can return the planned or projected schedule. Once the flight moves, the service can provide actual departure information, an updated arrival estimate and the current flight status.

During the airborne phase, businesses can access the aircraft’s latitude, longitude, altitude, speed, heading, flight phase and route progress. After arrival, the final landing and gate-in information can remain available for operational records.

Alerts when something changes

FlightNerve also provides flight monitoring and webhook alerts.

A company can register a flight and select the changes that matter to its operation. These may include delays, earlier arrivals, take-off, landing, cancellations, diversions and changes to the terminal, gate or baggage belt.

When one of the selected events occurs, FlightNerve sends an update directly to the company’s system. Each monitored flight includes a stable reference so that the alert can be linked to the relevant booking, passenger, driver or airport representative.

Businesses can set sensitivity thresholds to avoid acting on minor fluctuations. A chauffeur operator, for example, may choose to receive a timing alert only when the expected arrival changes by 15 minutes or more.

This allows operational teams to move away from repeatedly checking airline websites or airport boards. The flight can be monitored in the background, with staff notified when a change requires a decision.

Built for travel operations

The service can support several operational models.

Chauffeur companies can use live arrival estimates to improve dispatch timing and reduce avoidable waiting. Meet and greet operators can confirm that a flight has departed before deploying an airport agent. Hotels can coordinate transfers and front-desk preparation around the latest expected arrival.

Event companies can monitor several speakers, guests or production teams on one operational board. Destination management companies can adjust airport transfers and scheduled activities when an inbound flight is disrupted.

Travel management companies can add live status information to itineraries and use cancellation or diversion alerts within their traveller support processes. Technology providers can integrate the same information into booking platforms, passenger applications and internal operations tools.

FlightNerve publishes practical examples and operational guidance for these sectors in its flight tracking journal and guides.

Coverage across 1200 airlines and 3500 airports

FlightNerve provides a searchable directory of airline flight numbers, routes and destinations. Its public airline coverage directory allows users to browse carriers by name or code and review their available routes.

The platform is built to handle cases that are often difficult to manage with basic flight lookup services. One flight number may operate several legs, follow different routes on different days or be sold under several codeshare numbers.

FlightNerve can return each leg separately and allows the requesting company to select a particular leg using its departure airport. The response can also include the operating aircraft registration and the partner flight numbers associated with the service.

Airport information is available through a separate airport coverage directory, which lists departures, arrivals and route information for airports with scheduled traffic. Users can search by airport name, city or code.

The wider airport reference used by the API includes airport coordinates and time-zone information. This can support airport lookup, location-based searches and the identification of airports near a set of coordinates.

One integration for different flight stages

FlightNerve provides endpoints for flight status, schedules, live position, airports, routes, airspace and flight monitoring.

The same flight status endpoint can be used for past, present and future flights. For an upcoming service, it can return the available schedule or a projection based on recent operating history. For a current flight, it can provide live status and updated timings. For a completed flight, it can return the final record.

A separate live position endpoint provides the location of an airborne aircraft. FlightNerve identifies whether the position is based on a live fix, partner data or an estimated position during a coverage gap.

The API returns information in a consistent JSON structure, helping developers connect flight data to existing travel and operations systems. Full endpoint descriptions, response fields and integration examples are available in the FlightNerve API documentation.

For travel businesses, the value of flight data is determined by what happens after an update is received. FlightNerve is positioning its platform as the connection between a changing flight and the teams responsible for the passenger’s onward journey.
