Bauhaus Audio Studio announces its rebrand, relocation to Baltimore, and continued expansion after restoring and delivering more than 1,000 vintage stereo consoles.
-- A New Chapter Begins with a New Identity
Bauhaus Audio Studio today announced the completion of its transition from Groovy Wood Studios, marking a significant milestone in the company's evolution. The rebrand coincides with the successful relocation of operations from Wisconsin to Baltimore, Maryland, where the company now operates from the Baltimore Innovation Center. The announcement reflects a renewed focus on craftsmanship, long term growth, and the preservation of vintage mid century modern stereo consoles.

During the past six years, the business, first operating as Groovy Wood Studios and now as Bauhaus Audio Studio, has restored and delivered more than 1,000 vintage stereo consoles to homes, businesses, museums, yachts, and commercial spaces throughout the United States. The rebranding aligns the company's identity with its vision for the future while maintaining the restoration standards that established its reputation.
Preserving Design History Through Functional Restoration
Stereo consoles once occupied a central place in homes throughout the 1950s and 1960s before largely disappearing during the following decade. As appreciation for mid century modern furniture, vinyl records, and analog listening experiences continues to grow, Bauhaus Audio Studio has focused on restoring these historic pieces for modern use.
Each console undergoes a comprehensive restoration process designed to preserve its original craftsmanship while incorporating reliable components that support contemporary listening preferences. The result is a restored furniture piece that functions as both an audio system and a statement of mid century design.
Rather than reproducing vintage furniture, the company specializes in authentic restoration, allowing each console to retain its original character while extending its useful life for future generations.
The Rebrand Reflects an Evolving Business
Founder Steven Paulet explained that the company's original name reflected its beginnings during the uncertainty of the Covid period, but no longer represented the business it had become.
"Every time I said the word Groovy over the past five years I felt like Shaggy from Scooby Doo, and it really didn't do our business and professionalism justice. I picked the old name in our infancy during Covid and it just stuck. We don't take this business lightly and felt our name and brand needed to exude that," said Steven Paulet, Founder and Owner of Bauhaus Audio Studio.
The company believes the Bauhaus Audio Studio name more accurately reflects its emphasis on professional restoration, design heritage, and craftsmanship while supporting future expansion from its new Baltimore headquarters.

Recognition Across Corporate, Cultural, and Creative Communities
Throughout its growth, Bauhaus Audio Studio has restored consoles for a broad range of clients representing business, entertainment, and cultural organizations.
Completed projects include installations for Google headquarters, Trek headquarters, the Museum of Modern Art, and Paramount Pictures, where two restored stereo consoles were supplied for the John Krasinski and Ryan Reynolds feature film IF. The company has also completed restorations for numerous musicians, designers, collectors, and other private clients seeking authentic mid century furniture with fully functional audio systems.
Reflecting on those experiences, Paulet said, "The constantly growing list of celebrities' homes and companies we've been invited into to bring our restored consoles and turn up the music is mind blowing. We've been blessed to meet so many great people who share the love of what we do. Our Instagram posts are hard to keep up with."
Baltimore Supports the Next Phase of Growth
With operations now established at the Baltimore Innovation Center, Bauhaus Audio Studio has completed its operational transition and continues serving customers through its official website as well as select vintage furniture marketplaces, including Chairish, Kashew, and AptDeco.
The relocation supports the company's boutique business model while expanding opportunities to reach collectors, interior designers, architects, hospitality professionals, and homeowners seeking restored vintage audio furniture.
As demand for authentic mid century modern furnishings continues to increase, Bauhaus Audio Studio plans to maintain its emphasis on carefully restored consoles rather than large scale production, preserving the individualized attention that has defined its work over the past six years.
Continuing the Revival of Vintage Stereo Consoles
The company's latest announcement represents both a new identity and a continuation of its original mission. By combining traditional woodworking, restoration expertise, and modern audio integration, Bauhaus Audio Studio continues to preserve a distinctive chapter of American and European design history.
The company enters this next phase with an established portfolio of more than 1,000 restored stereo consoles and a growing customer base spanning residential, commercial, hospitality, and entertainment sectors. The rebrand reflects confidence in the continued resurgence of vintage audio furniture and the enduring appeal of craftsmanship rooted in design history.
