The latest AUM milestone coincides with Compound’s accelerated momentum, including four senior hires: Sheila Ryan as Head of Wealth Management, Matt Barley as Director of Advisor Recruiting, Ryan Vas Dias as Director of Tax, and Dylan Portelli as Lead Product Manager.
Compound Planning, a leading digital family office committed to reimagining wealth management for the next generation, today announced it reached $5 billion in assets under management (“AUM”) — marking 75% growth since January 2025.
The milestone not only builds on growth momentum and strategic offerings achieved throughout 2025, but coincides with the addition of four key senior leaders: Sheila Ryan as Head of Wealth Management, Matt Barley as Director of Advisor Recruiting, Ryan Vas Dias as Director of Tax, and Dylan Portelli as Lead Product Manager.
“Growing 75% in just over a year to surpass $5 billion is a clear signal that clients want a firm built around their entire financial lives, not just their investments, as well as the technology to make that possible,” said Alex Farman-Farmaian, Co-Founder and CEO of Compound. “We've built a financial operating system that powers both sides of the advisor and client relationship, enabling a more proactive and comprehensive client experience. The advisors and clients choosing Compound are telling us the same thing: this is what wealth management should look like. Adding senior leaders across tax, product, advisory, and recruiting means we can deliver that at a level most firms simply aren't built for.”
As the latest landmarks in Compound’s accelerated organic and inorganic growth, the firm has consistently invested in critical operational, technological, and advisory functions over the past year.
The firm added Akin Adekeye as General Counsel, Jessica Faaborg as Chief Compliance Officer, and Martin Malloy as Head of Content in mid-February, in addition to introducing Activity Monitor as the centerpiece of its AI-powered operating system, AdvisorHQ, in September 2025. Compound has also added 24 advisors and over 700 new clients since January 2025, while increasing firm AUM by over $2 billion in that same time period.
More specifically, Barley, Ryan, Vas Dias and Portelli each offer a unique depth and breadth of industry experience that will position Compound to continually add quality financial advisors and elevate offerings for the firm’s high-net-worth and ultra high-net-worth clients:
- Matt Barley, Director of Advisor Growth and Recruiting: An experienced professional with 15+ years of experience in business development and relationship management focused on wealth advisors across the RIA industry, Barley will lead Compound’s advisor growth and recruiting. Prior to joining Compound, Barley built expertise in the annuity, TAMP, technology, and private markets space, including prior roles at Meketa Capital and Primark Capital, among others.
- Sheila Ryan, Head of Wealth Management: An industry veteran with over 20 years of experience and expertise in developing advisor and client-support teams, Ryan will lead Compound’s wealth management business, ensuring seamless coordination between the advisory, client service, operations, and marketing teams. Sheila’s expertise in wealth management includes developing responsive advisor and support teams, integrating M&A transactions, and delivering scalable methodologies and tools that reduce costs, standardize core functions, and improve client service and experience. Before joining Compound, Ryan most recently served as Division President of Wealth Management for Focus Partners.
- Ryan Vas Dias, Director of Tax: Equipped with 10+ years of experience as a CPA, and having most recently served as Tax Director at Baker Tilly, Vas Dias will lead Compound’s tax services — serving as the bridge between technical tax code and the firm’s comprehensive, tax-optimized financial planning. Vas Dias specializes in advising clients on liquidity events, QSBS planning, equity compensation structures, and sophisticated trust & estate issues. He will partner with Compound’s advisors to ensure tax planning aligns with a client’s broader financial goals, and empower clients to make confident decisions during their most significant financial milestones.
- Dylan Portelli, Lead Product Manager: A specialist in developing products at the intersection of data, automation, and human judgment, Portelli leads the development of digital infrastructure at Compound, using data, automation, and AI to help advisors and families understand and act on their financial picture more clearly. Prior to joining Compound, Portelli served as a Senior Product Manager at Intuit, where he focused on reporting and operational intelligence systems — transforming complex financial data into actionable insights that drove informed operational decisions through robust data architecture and AI.
