BioTek reMEDys Celebrates Pharmacists for Pharmacy Week

Specialty Infusion Pharmacy Company Promotes Awareness and Education of Safe Medication Use

In honor of this week being National Pharmacy Week, BioTek reMEDys, one of the nation’s largest independent specialty infusion pharmacies focused on rare diseases, is calling for enhanced education and awareness of safe medication use for patients with rare diseases and conditions, while also celebrating and drawing attention to the contributions of pharmacists nationwide.

Annually celebrated the third full week in October, “Pharmacy Week” acknowledges the invaluable contributions pharmacists and technicians make to patient care in hospitals, outpatient clinics, homecare and other healthcare settings.

“Pharmacy Week is a time to recognize the vital contributions and powerful impact pharmacists, specialty pharmacists and pharmacy technicians make on patient wellbeing and on the healthcare system as a whole,” said Edward Sotherden, BioTek reMEDys’ Chief Operating Officer. “As a pharmacist-founded organization that works alongside pharmacy and specialty pharmacy professionals every day, we are keenly aware of the essential role these experts play on the healthcare team and we are passionate about shining a spotlight on their efforts to ensure medication use is safe and patients are achieving optimal outcomes. We are proud to work alongside pharmacy professionals as we serve the highly specific needs of patients through our specialty infusion services.”

BioTek reMEDys provides therapy-specific patient education materials and its National Customer Support Center is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to help patients and their loved ones manage critical aspects of care. By servicing very specific disease states, BioTek reMEDys’ expert team can maintain its focus on patient care – making sure that dosages and treatments are appropriate.

As an example of BioTek reMEDys’ dedication to advocacy and education surrounding rare conditions, the company will be exhibiting at the annual GBS CIDP International Symposium in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida later this week. Hosted by the GBS/CIDP Foundation International, the event is designed to share research and treatment best practices to support individuals and their families affected by Guillain-Barre’ syndrome (GBS), chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP).
