WASHINGTON, D.C. / ACCESS Newswire / September 24, 2026 / Hydrosat, the leading provider of thermal infrared satellite data and AI-powered analytics, today announced its selection under the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Space-Based Environmental Monitoring Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (SBEM IDIQ) contract.

The selection positions Hydrosat to bring its high-resolution multispectral and thermal imagery and AI-driven intelligence to a broader range of NOAA forecasting, environmental monitoring and research priorities. Hydrosat's technology transforms surface-temperature observations into actionable insights for applications including drought monitoring, wildfire assessment, agriculture, urban heat, water management, and environmental change detection.

The SBEM IDIQ operates under NOAA's Professional, Scientific, and Technical Services Program 2.0, an acquisition vehicle with an $8 billion shared ceiling across participating contracts and awardees. The vehicle enables NOAA's weather, ocean, fisheries, and satellite services to procure professional, technical, and scientific capabilities. Through the SBEM IDIQ, Hydrosat will be eligible to compete for future task orders that will define the scope, funding, and delivery requirements for specific projects. The contract runs from September 1, 2026, through August 31, 2036, with a five-year base period and a five-year option.

Managed by NOAA's National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service through its Commercial Data Program, the SBEM IDIQ is designed to expand the agency's procurement and operational use of commercial environmental satellite data. The observations are expected to support NOAA's prediction models, weather forecasting and space weather applications, as well as research conducted with interagency partners, academic institutions, and other scientific organizations.
