Bout Time Pub & Grub Arvada Restaurant Responds to Public Health Notice, Emphasizes Staff Vaccination and Continued Operations

Bout Time expresses concern over public framing that may imply responsibility

(PRUnderground) March 13th, 2026

Bout Time Pub & Grub today issued a statement following recent media reports referencing the restaurant in connection with a confirmed measles case in the region.

Health officials reported that an individual who later tested positive for measles visited the restaurant earlier this week. While the restaurant is fully cooperating with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), ownership expressed concern that public reporting may unintentionally suggest the business was responsible for the exposure.

“To be clear, our restaurant did not cause this situation,” said Dan Eckersley, Director of Operations. “An individual who later became ill visited our establishment as a guest, the same way someone might visit a grocery store, movie theater, or airport. We were surprised and disappointed to see our business singled out in a way that could imply fault.”

The restaurant noted that measles exposures can occur in any public setting and that businesses hosting members of the public do not have the ability to screen guests for illnesses that may not yet show symptoms.

Upon notification from public health officials, the restaurant immediately began cooperating with CDPHE and confirmed the following:

  • All staff members are vaccinated and currently healthy
  • The facility has been thoroughly cleaned and sanitized
  • The restaurant remains open and operating as normal

“We take the health and safety of our guests and staff seriously,” Eckersley added. “Our team is vaccinated, we maintain strict sanitation standards, and we are following all guidance provided by public health officials.”

Public health authorities advise that individuals who are fully vaccinated against measles have a very low risk of infection. Anyone who visited the restaurant during the timeframe identified by CDPHE should review public health guidance regarding symptoms and vaccination status.

Bout Time emphasized that it remains committed to transparency, cooperation with public health officials, and providing a safe and welcoming environment for the community.

“We appreciate the support from our guests and neighbors,” said Mr Eckersley. “We will continue to serve our community and operate responsibly while public health officials conduct their work.”
