North Charleston, South Carolina – Nine attorneys from Steinberg Law Firm have been named to The Best Lawyers in America® 2027 edition, earning recognition in personal injury, product liability, and workers’ compensation categories that track closely with the firm’s longstanding areas of practice in the Lowcountry. 

Best Lawyers® states that lawyers are first nominated, then evaluated by peers in the same practice areas and geographic regions through confidential surveys. Those surveys ask respondents whether they would refer a matter to the nominee, and results are then reviewed to confirm that attorneys are in good standing with licensing authorities. Best Lawyers notes that attorneys cannot pay to be included in the guide. 

The 2027 edition lists Michael J. Jordan in three categories: personal injury litigation – plaintiffs, product liability litigation – plaintiffs and workers’ compensation law – claimants. Jordan’s inclusion across multiple practice areas reflects the mix of injury and liability cases that continue to make up a substantial portion of civil dockets in South Carolina courts. 

Two attorneys, Steven E. Goldberg and Malcolm M. Crosland Jr., were named in both personal injury and workers’ compensation categories. Goldberg was listed for personal injury litigation – plaintiffs and workers’ compensation law – claimants. Crosland was recognized for personal injury litigation – plaintiffs, workers’ compensation law – claimants and workers’ compensation law – employers, a combination that spans disputes arising from both sides of the employment relationship. 

David T. Pearlman, Thomas M. White, Benjamin W. Akery, and Kelly M. Alfreds were each recognized for workers’ compensation law – claimants. Their listings come at a time when workplace safety, wage protections and access to benefits remain steady sources of litigation and administrative claims in the region, particularly in industries tied to construction, manufacturing and port-related activity.  

Rounding out the firm’s 2027 honorees, Catherine Dunn Meehan and Elliotte Quinn were both named in personal injury litigation – plaintiffs and workers’ compensation law – claimants. Their inclusion underscores the extent to which lawyers at the firm handle overlapping issues of injury, liability, and employment in one of South Carolina’s fastest-growing metropolitan areas.
