Mottier brings more than 40 years of leadership experience in aerospace and aviation. He retired in 2023 as Senior Vice President & General Manager of General Electric Company while serving as President & CEO of GE Aviation Systems. In that role, he led the consolidation and strategic growth of GE Aviation’s non-engine aviation products and systems portfolio, overseeing significant advancements in avionics and integrated systems.
Throughout his career, Mottier has been recognized as an influential leader in business and general aviation. He served as Chairman of the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) and helped oversee the passage of the Small Airplane Revitalization Act, which modernized FAA Part 23 certification standards. He is also a recipient of Aviation Week & Space Technology’s Laureate Award and the GE Chairman’s Award for Empowering and Inspiring Leadership.
Beyond corporate leadership, Mottier has maintained a deep personal commitment to aviation and service. He is an avid pilot and aircraft owner and serves as a Command Pilot for SkyHope. His dedication to mission-driven aviation aligns closely with SkyHope’s purpose.
“Brad’s experience at the highest levels of aerospace leadership, combined with his passion for service through aviation, makes him an exceptional addition to our Board,” said Adam Broun, Board Chair of SkyHope. “As we continue expanding access to care for patients across the eastern United States, his insight and guidance will help strengthen our operational excellence and long-term growth.”
SkyHope’s mission is to remove distance and financial barriers that prevent patients and veterans from accessing critical medical treatment and vital support services. Through a network of volunteer pilots and partners, the organization coordinates free flights for individuals who must travel long distances for specialized care. Each flight not only provides transportation, but also peace of mind and renewed hope for those we serve and their families.
“I have seen firsthand the impact aviation can have on people’s lives,” said Mottier. “SkyHope represents the very best of our industry — combining technical excellence with compassion and service. I am honored to support an organization that turns aviation into access to care.”
Mottier holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Engineering from the University of Illinois and an MBA from the University of Chicago. He remains active in aviation and philanthropic initiatives and brings strategic, regulatory, and industry expertise that will support SkyHope’s continued growth and mission expansion.
As SkyHope builds upon its legacy of service, the addition of Bradley Mottier reinforces the organization’s commitment to leadership, innovation, and ensuring that no patient is denied care due to distance.
