Basant Panchami 2024 celebrations in Dayalbagh

"Ritu basant aaye sataguru jag mein, chalo charanan par sees dharo ree."

In the Hindu month of maagh, the auspicious day of Panchmi (the fifth day of the lunar fortnight in the Hindu Calendar), which is popularly known as Basant Panchmi, is considered as a blessed and sacred day among Hindus and is welcomed as a harbinger of joy and exuberance. With the passing of the winter season, as soon as the season of Basant commences, there is an infusion of new energy in animals as well as birds, human beings and vegetation. Saints too have compared the time for the manifestation of the Supreme Lord of All Creation on this earth with the most majestic of all seasons--Basant.

The Basant season is of special significance for Dayalbagh, the headquarters of the Radhasoami Faith situated in the city of Agra. For the satsangis of the Radhasoami Faith,  the auspicious day of Basant is one of extreme happiness and Bliss as on this sacred day, February 15, 1861, the first Revered Leader of the Faith, Param Purush Puran Dhani Huzur Soamiji Maharaj, revealed for the first time the Divine message of the salvation of all creation and mercifully opened the doors of Satsang to the general public.

"Ghat mein kheloon ab basant. bhed bataaya sataguru sant.."

On the auspicious day of Basant Panchmi, on January 20, 1915, the fifth Revered Leader of the Radhasoami faith, Sir Sahabji Maharaj, laid the foundation of Dayalbagh, the headquarters of Radhasoami Satsang by planting a Mulberry seedling. Along with this, the foundation of a new Satsang culture was also laid. At Dayalbagh, Education and Culture or a Way of Life commenced in the form of a very beautiful and delicate plant, on January 1, 1916, with a Model School popularly known as Radhasoami Educational Institute (REI). This plant slowly and gradually grew into the vast tree that it is at present, in the form of a University, the impact of which can be felt not only in different parts of the country but also in countries abroad.  The fragrance of this tree named Dayalbagh Educational Institute, is spreading in all four directions.

" Aaj aaee bahaar basant, umang man guru charanan lipataay.."

The day of spring holds great significance for the Satsangis of Ra Dha Sva Aa Mi Faith. On this day, all Satsangis celebrate with great enthusiasm and praise Huzur Ra Dha Sva Aa Mi Dayal.

The lifestyle of Dayalbagh has always been dynamic and spirited, so every year some new dimensions are added. This year too, on 16 December 2023, new guests arrived in the Gaushala (Dairy/Cowshed) of Dayalbagh in the form of 5 camels and 3 calf purchased from Rajasthan. Later, 3 more camels were added and a camel 'Dhun' gave birth to a very beautiful and healthy calf 'Paradhun'. It is also important to mention here that while coming from Rajasthan to Dayalbagh, a camel 'Sakhi' had some discomfort in her leg due to which she was unable to get up. Specialist doctors from Agra, Mathura, Bikaner and even Australia were constantly taking care and treating her, but Sakhi's health did not improve encouragingly.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Father Gracious Huzur Prof. Prem Saran Satsangi Sahab continued visit Sakhi daily and showered 'Sakhi' with his divine vision. On the arrival of Gracious Huzur Prem Saran Satsangi Sahab, there was a new zeal in 'Sakhi' and kept seeing Param Guru Huzur for a while, it seemed that she too was pleading with that Dayal to get herself well soon. Finally, with the prayer of 'Sakhi' and with the Grace of Gracious Huzur Prof. Prem Saran Satsangi Sahab, on 11.01.2024 at 11:20 pm, 'Sakhi' suddenly stood up and walked 8-10 steps on her own to other camels, the entire Satsang world was feeling the charisma of Most ReveredDayal's majesty.

On this occasion, in the Parilok of Soami Nagar, the celebration of thanking at the lotus feet of the Supreme Father was celebrated in the shadow of the holy samadh of Param Purush Puran Dhani Huzur Soamiji Maharaj. Recitations from Holy books, qawwalis, and cultural programs were organized. The majesty of the Mercy of the Masters of Ra Dha Sva Aa Mi Faith is not hidden from anyone, it is seen directly or indirectly from time to time, just have to have faith like 'Sakhi' towards the Dayal.

The United Nations has also declared the year 2024 as the 'International Year of the Camelid's' on 4 January 2024 in view of the usefulness of camels, while camels have arrived in Dayalbagh a long time ago.

Before the arrival of spring, preparations begin to welcome it in Dayalbagh. From small children to the elderly, the joy knows no bounds. Everyone gets involved in cleaning and decorating their homes and localities and in the entire Dayalbagh. Due to the collective efforts of all the people, a unique glory is seen in Dayalbagh on Basant. Satsangis celebrate the festival of Basant with great devotion and while thanking Ra Dha Sva Aa Mi Dayal at the feet of their Most Revered Guru Maharaj, spend this day in Aarti, Puja and Practice with full enthusiasm and love and appreciate their fortune.

"Mohi mil gae ra-dha/dhah-sv-aa-mi poore sant, ab bajat hiye mein dhun anant.."

On the occasion of spring, various programs like baby shows, fancy dress shows, gymnastics and various types of sports programs are organized in Dayalbagh. Children, youth and all brothers and sisters enthusiastically participate in all these programs

"Aaj aaya basant naveen, sakhi ree khelo guru sang phaag rachaay.."

On the auspicious occasion of Basant, in Dayalbagh and in Satsang colonies all over the country and abroad, the most glorious and attractive decorative lighting is displayed at night. For this candles and oil lamps (diyas) which can cause pollution, are not used.  LED lights, powered by solar energy are used for this lighting decoration.
