LICAP Technologies, Inc. is pleased to announce the formation of the LICAP BIO division to manufacture personal protective equipment (PPE) as part of its Sacramento, California manufacturing complex.
With the COVID-19 crisis affecting everyone around the world, LICAP is committed to utilizing its manufacturing resources and expertise to produce quality face masks and other PPE products. LICAP is shipping the required equipment and supplies to Sacramento via airfreight to urgently address this capability. Based on the current schedule, LICAP BIO plans to be at full production capacity of 50K masks per day by the end of April. To ensure the highest quality, the primary mask material, non-woven melt-blown fabric, is sourced in the USA. The master production line will also include UV sterilization technology and specialized packaging materials to ensure a clean and sterile product is delivered to our customers. LICAP is also able to offer a turn-key solution mask production line to anyone interested in setting up this capability themselves.
“It has been a herculean effort so far to research the required equipment and materials, and complete the factory layout in record time,” says Jason McMillen, Director of Global Business Development. “With the time difference, our engineering and management teams are up all night working out delivery details with Asia, and then during the day, they are furiously working to get a new production area built. We have our best engineers and PhD’s working on this and we are going to make a great product in record time.”
