In adversity to popular culture, conversations about drug and sexual abuse, sexual harassment and mental illness are becoming less taboo, and as the timing is perfect, Dr. January is preparing a TV series that's suspenseful, culture-driven and witty to help individuals heal from the universal social ills aforementioned. While a focal point is to entertain viewers, Dr. January has partnered with screenwriters by clinically diagnosing the created characters to deliver episodes that reflect the rawness of real-life experiences.
"I wish that all parties who were trying to "survive R. Kelly" or for him to save himself would have had a chance to read my book or been educated at an early age on inappropriate sexual behaviors. Those women could have avoided that situation and he could be focusing on making beautiful music," stated Dr. January. "The recent increase of human trafficking for sexual acts with minors during the Super Bowl is another issue we have to be more vigilant about as well. Dr. January has 25 years experience as a teacher, counseling therapist, behavioral specialist in the Chicago Public School system; and professor of Psychology at Chicago State University.
