He then went on to complete his residency in sports medicine at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan, followed by his fellowship in sports medicine and shoulder surgery at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. He also holds a Juris Doctor degree from Harvard Law School in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Thereafter, he became board-certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopedic residents and surgeons, as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopedic surgeons.
