Olbrich Botanical Gardens

First opened in 1952, these gardens are based on Madison’s scenic waterfront. And the seasonal flowers bloom throughout the year. The Bolz Conservatory is an indoor space that has a variety of native plants.

The gardens also sport some fascinating architecture. This includes the beautiful pavilion, the Sala, which was donated by the government of Thailand.

Chazen Museum of Art

The Chazen Museum of Art features a variety of artwork across a range of different styles. They have on display sculptures, print works, paintings, photography, and drawings. They feature a lot of both American and European art.

They also offer guided tours. And be sure to check the local listings as their music program sometimes puts on concerts.

Monona Terrace

Although originally designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, Monona Terrace was actually constructed in 1997, decades after Wright’s death. The building utilizes a glass facade which is something often used in Wright’s structures. You can go up to the rooftop terrace and take in the wondrous views of Lake Monona or even go for a tour of the whole building.
