Woongjin Thinkbig’s 'ARpedia,' wins ‘CES 2023 Innovation Award' twice in a row

South Korea - November 17, 2022 - Woongjin ThinkBig, a Korean educationally immersive program designed to help communities cultivate sustainable and effective learning for all, took home a CES 2023 Best Innovation Award for their ARpedia technology this past week.

Receiving awards in two different innovation categories, Software & Mobile Apps, and Virtual & AR, Woongjin ThinkBig’s finger recognition technology through its three-dimensional reading experience achieved via the ARpedia technology, was praised by global technology judges and experts.

In particular, 'AR English Role-play Words’ (hereafter referred to as AR English), which applies not only to augmented reality technology but also to UX (User Experience), that recognizes fingerprints on paper books, is exhibited as the Korean edutech technology that has once again evolved this year.

‘ARpedia’ is a new series product that provides a learning experience through various gamification elements. It allows students to study English words with their fingertips. Currently, a local school in the United States is conducting actual prototype classes and has entered the final stage of development.

“We are proud to be at the forefront of the edutech space, demonstrating what is possible when technology and education are combined for one seamless experience,” said Sam-Rak Choi, head of IT development at Woongjin ThinkBig. “It is an exciting time to be part of the online education space, and we are honored to have received the awards we did prior to this year’s CES 2023 Conference.”

Woongjin ThinkBig plans to introduce its ARpedia technology to both visitors and companies from around the world by participating in the forthcoming CES 2023, dubbed the ‘world’s largest consumer electronics exposition’ to be held in Las Vegas, the United States this January.

Woongjin ThinkBig offers a variety of educational content targeting all age groups, from kids to adults, by offering study rooms, learning centers, online and offline book publishing services, and more. Woongjin ThinkBig also hosts a BookClub, which is a member-only reading and learning convergence program that has been integrated with digital platforms.

Above all, Woongjin ThinkBig prioritizes providing love, and ‘more love,’ to its collaborators, communities, and society through their commitment to edutech and futuristic learning.
