MIDDLEBURY, Conn. - May 23, 2022 - (Newswire.com)

Premier Subaru Middlebury presented Laura Osterman, Grant Program Director of The Connecticut Cancer Foundation with a check in the amount of $32,625 today. The donation represented the proceeds from the company's annual "Share the Love" event, in which anyone who purchased or leased a new Subaru could make a $250 donation to one of four national charities - ASPCA, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Meals on Wheels Association of America, the National Parks Foundation - or a fifth local charity for their customers to support.  Premier Subaru Middlebury selected The Connecticut Cancer Foundation as the company's "hometown charity" for the Subaru 2021-2022 Share the Love Campaign.

Premier Subaru Middlebury is proud to have matched dollars from Subaru of America directly to provide an additional impact to The Connecticut Cancer Foundation.

This is the second year that Premier Subaru Middlebury contributed to The Connecticut Cancer Foundation, with total contributions from the company exceeding $53,000.

The mission of The Connecticut Cancer Foundation is to provide financial assistance to Connecticut cancer patients and their families to fund cancer research. It was founded by John Ellis, a former catcher for the New York Yankees, Cleveland Indians and Texas Rangers.

"At Premier Subaru Watertown, we are excited to share the love with The Connecticut Cancer Foundation, an amazing organization that has contributed more than $6.9 million to more than 8,000 cancer patients over the last 34 years, as well as contributed more than $2.4 million to cancer research," said Robert J. Alvine, President of Premier Subaru Middlebury.

Kerri Pacheco, Vice President of Premier Subaru Middlebury, continued, "Given the horrible effects of COVID the past two years and the inability for nonprofits to engage in fundraising activities, we are proud to provide this contribution to The Connecticut Cancer Foundation to assist in these challenging times. The need for help with those with cancer is ever increasing, and we want to be there. I am really proud of our team raising more than $53,000 for The Connecticut Cancer Foundation over the last two years."

Over the last 14 years, through the Share the Love event, Subaru of America and its participating retailers have donated more than $225 million to charity, with customers choosing between four national and over 1,600 hometown charities.

Premier Subaru Middlebury has provided more than $350,000 in contributions to local organizations such as New Opportunities Meals on Wheels, The Harold Leever Regional Cancer Center, The Boys and Girls Club of Waterbury and the Waterbury Police Activity League.

The Premier Auto Group as a whole has contributed more than $1.7 million to local organizations over the last six years - making an impact in the communities in which the company serves.
