Anguillan government endorses Tennis Central’s Service Trip

ANGUILLA MINISTRY OF SPORTS, EDUCATION AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT ENDORSES NEW POWERFUL COMMUNITY SERVICE EXPERIENCE FOR TEENAGERS TO IGNITE BIGGER SENSE OF PURPOSE AND BOND IN PARADISE

Tennis Central’s Anguilla Service Trips, which combine sport and service to address every aspect of a student’s summer service requirements in a two-week package in Caribbean paradise, have been fully endorsed by the Anguillan government.

The Ministry of Sports, Education, and Social Development has formally granted its stamp of approval. Campers are set to travel to Anguilla in three groups this year during the fortnights of June 11-25, June 25-July 9, and July 9-23.

Minister Dee-Ann Kentish-Rogers, former Miss Great Britain and Commonwealth Games athlete turned minister of parliament, herself a former Anguilla Tennis Academy student, appeared in Tennis Central’s January info session on the service trips. She confirmed what she had previously laid down in writing supporting the effort.

Accenture CEO Julie Sweet, mother of a recent camper, joined her in hosting the call.

Discerning parents can now be at ease knowing that their children will be exposed to education, culture, athletics, arts, food, and powerful community service activities with exotic excursions on a dreamy island.

“Community service should be an activity children look forward to,” Tennis Central CEO and trip director Yann Auzoux said, “instead of dreading like the usual cold early morning experience they must do to get high school credit.

“The power of these trips is that they ignite a bigger sense of purpose in all their participants and create unbreakable lifelong bonds that elevate humanity,” he said. “Even some of the world’s most powerful corporate executives have welcomed this unique experience for their children.”

The motto for the trips is: RESPECT, REFLECT, and SERVE. Children from both sides of the aisle find themselves forever improved and connected.
