This Week's Asset Class Flows: 09/08/2020

By: ETFdb
Investors often reallocate money in between asset classes, whether to manage risk or simply to rebalance. This is our weekly snapshot of where ETF investors are putting their money. The past week has seen strong inflows from equities, particularly the Invesco QQQ ( QQQ A- ), whose $1.7 billion in new assets accounted for almost 45% of the asset class’ flows for the week. Volatility continues to be a small, but mighty player as well. This week’s inflows of $153 million account for 3.4% of the assets in the space. Multi-asset funds had a bit of a mixed week. On the one hand, there’s the Cambria Tail Risk ETF ( TAIL ) which pulled in $21.7 million or 6% of its AUM. Then on the other, there’s the Pacer Trendpilot series. Just two funds from this family accounted for losses of almost $73 million: investors pulled $52.5 million from the Pacer Trendpilot US Large Cap ETF ( PTLC ), and $20.5 million from the Pacer Trendpilot 100 ETF ( PTNQ ).
