ISRAEL ANNOUNCES A PURPORTED CLASS ACTION FILED AGAINST THE
COMPANY
Netanya, Israel – March 11, 2008 Cellcom
Israel Ltd. (NYSE: CEL), announced that on March 10, 2008, it was served with a
purported class action lawsuit which was filed against the Company, in the
District Court of Central Region, by plaintiffs claiming to be subscribers of
the Company. The plaintiffs claim that the Company unlawfully charged its
subscribers for providing them with call details records.
If the
lawsuit is certified as a class action, the total amount claimed from the
Company is estimated by the plaintiffs to be approximately NIS 440
million.
At this
preliminary stage, the Company is unable to assess the lawsuit's chances of
success.
