Safe-haven flows buoy yen, dollar consolidates

LONDON (MarketWatch) -- Asian equities slumped and European stocks and U.S. stock index futures followed suit Thursday, maintaining a stream of safe-haven buying for the Japanese yen, while the dollar consolidated, traders said.
