Longview Texas ISD and US Med Test Deploy a National Back-to-School Rollout

Comprehensive plan provides for protecting children and safe reopening of U.S. schools

DALLAS, TX, October 08, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- On Friday, October 9, 2020, the Longview Independent School District (ISD) will deploy a revolutionary prototype plan for reopening schools partnering with US Med Test Affirmative Solutions Group. The plan can be deployed in all schools nationwide to rollout a safe, in-person back-to-school strategy. The complete plan incorporates:

1) Twice weekly testing of students, faculty, and staff with accelerated test results.
2) SafePass Intelligent Disinfectant Station which is a revolutionary purifying system that includes face mask detection, temperature detection, contactless hand sanitizing dispenser and low dose ultraviolet light therapy to kill bacteria and viruses; and
3) CleanDurance an antimicrobial surface protectant that is water-based and kills SARS-COV-2 the virus causing COVID-19 and many other viruses, like the flu, and protects for up to 30 days.

Dr. James Wilcox, Longview ISD Superintendent of Schools, says, "Longview would be the only school district in the entire country undertaking something like this right now."

Ron Price, former chair-elect of the National Black Caucus of School Board Members and currently a regent of a major Texas university, who has worked with the Longview ISD on this rollout, says, "This national model is a thorough plan on how to reopen schools during a national pandemic." With testing twice a week and results within 48 hours, schools can be confident that anyone with a positive result can be notified and isolated immediately so as to reduce the risk of exposure to the rest of the school and those outside the school environment, such as families. The protocol can be deployed in school districts nationwide. During the national pandemic, our children must be protected while beginning the new normal for in-school learning. Parents will be required to provide permission for their child to be tested.

Why Longview? Why Texas? Texas is creating a national model on how to re-open school districts during a worldwide pandemic. US MED Test in partnership with Longview ISD is establishing the proper protocols that can be used in schools and can be applied nation-wide. The Longview ISD Board of Trustees approved pursing a COVID-19 protocol for both students and staff. Testing will be conducted on Wednesdays and Fridays for all students and staff and results will be available within 48 hours.
