Crescent Cardboard Launches Four New Products in 2020

Company debuts BriteCores™ 8-Ply, Etched Metals, and Winter White and Sanguine RatgMat® matboards

WHEELING, Ill. - June 1, 2020 - (Newswire.com)

Crescent Cardboard has introduced four new framing products.

“As part of our commitment to innovation, we are always looking to develop on-trend products that meet the needs of today’s artists and framers,” said Matt Ozmun, Crescent executive vice president. “These new matboard styles, finishes and colors will give frame shops more options than ever to ensure their customers’ artwork shines.”

BriteCores 8-ply matboards are an extension of Crescent’s fashionable 4-ply Select BriteCores line that features deeply pigmented bright color cores with two usable surfaces—white on one side plus a core-matching color. The thicker 8-ply matboards allow for a deeper, more dramatic cut or bevel that lets the accent color show through. They are sturdy enough to support large prints and posters and their bright colors make them ideal for framing vivid cartoon art, animation cells, children’s drawings or paintings, and sports memorabilia. The company is now offering many of its most popular 4-ply BriteCores colors in a larger size, as well.

Added to the Crescent Select line of conservation quality matboards are three new Etched Metals. Complementing urban and industrial décor, they add a modern flair to everything from photographs to shadow boxes. Etched Metals white core metallic matboards have a subtle texture and hint of shimmer that accents any piece of art without overpowering it. They are available in brushed brass, gunmetal and oil-rubbed bronze. For a more dramatic effect, Etched Metals black core metallic matboards are offered in gunmetal and oil-rubbed bronze. They add the extra element of a black bevel to the design and are ideal for giving classic black-and-white photographs a contemporary elegance. Both are made of 100% alpha cellulose construction and are acid-free, lignin-free, and fade and bleed resistant.

Also making its debut are two new colors in Crescent’s top-of-the-line RagMat® Museum Solids collection—Winter White and Sanguine. RagMat matboards are specifically designed for the display and protection of artwork. Naturally acid-free and lignin-free, they comply with the most stringent standards of the Library of Congress, Fine Art Trade Guild, PPFA and other governing authorities.

Crescent’s Winter White is the most brilliant white the company offers. Made of 100 percent cotton with solid color throughout, Winter White is available in both 4-ply and 8-ply. Sanguine is one of the most historic colors in art, named for the reddish brown chalk used by the masters in the 15th and 16th centuries. Lending itself naturally to sketches, life drawings and rustic scenes, Sanguine was favored by Venetian painters and those influenced by them. Crescent’s Sanguine matboard perfectly complements art created with this special media and color.

Founded in 1902, Crescent is the recognized leader in manufacturing and marketing of paper and matboard products for the custom framing and art materials markets. For information, log onto CrescentCardboard.com or call (888) 293-3956.
