Hour, a new on-demand home services startup based in New Jersey, is developing a patent-pending comprehensive, on-demand, GPS-tracked urgent home services app and website platform where local service providers will be able to accept job requests from homeowners within a short radius for a fraction of the price of the major competitors in the industry. The current companies in the space today sell the home owner's information to multiple contractors and Realtors, all whom contact the same poor individual usually within the span of a couple days. This leads to frustrated individuals who have to deal with their phone ringing off the hook and emails being blasted by companies all looking to get their business. Hour seeks to prevent this by only allowing one contractor or Realtor at a time to accept a service request. As it is accepted, the homeowner can then watch the independent contractor in real-time on a GPS map as they drive to the target location, just like a taxi app.

Hour is founded and managed by Patrick Pezzello and Edward Hammill. However, the two are not engineers, but business owners and entrepreneurs. Both are independent contractors, Patrick is a Realtor and a General Contractor & Edward is an HVAC Contractor. This has helped them shape the idea to perfection because they've both personally been a part of the competition and know the defects.
