Dental Insurance Solved for Unemployed by COVID19

By: Issuewire

Clearwater, May 28, 2020 (Issuewire.com) - Amongst all of the changes and people losing their employment, another issue that is arising that many lawmakers may not be considering.  There are many organizations that just cannot sustain the pandemic closures.  That means that many people will be out of a job after all restrictions are removed.

In addition to organizations not opening back up, some are cutting back on employee benefits while closed or once they do open again for economic reasons.  Healthwize LLC has launched its new Dental Discount Program for patients all over the country that have lost or never had dental insurance.  Jason Kopakin, DMD and CEO of Healthwize LLC states that he had started a plan similar to this in his practice for patients that did not have insurance.  He was able to help so many people get their health back on track, he decided to make this a national discount.  So what's the difference between a discount membership and insurance?  To get answers, Nancy Zelno, COO of Healthwize, a Dental Success Coach explains:

"Dental insurance has not changed its benefits since its inception in the 1970s.  There are maximum levels of expenditures, waiting times, downgrades, and even restrictions on what the dentist can and cannot do even if it is in the best interest of the patient.  Healthwize has NONE of that.  When a patient purchases a discount plan, we allow up to 6 people on one plan.  They get a discount at a high-quality dentist for less than $24 a month."

Discount plans don't limit you to a certain amount of dentistry per year of coverage.  Many dental insurance companies will charge $40 a month PER PERSON, and you will need to wait one year before you have major coverage at all.  After that, you will only have $1000 or maybe $1500 a year of coverage.  In addition, there are procedures that dental insurance will not even cover because of age restrictions like orthodontics or sealants.  Healthwize has none of those restrictions.

Patients only need to go to Healthwize.net and sign up.  Healthwize will then activate them and send them a member number that is taken to the dentist they choose from the network.  Patients can easily search through the directory for many of the dentists and find one of their choices.  In addition, the other advantage is that the patients can use this discount at any of the network dentists.  They do not have to be tied to anyone dentist as it is with many in-house dental discount plans.

Healthwize has made things simpler by completely automating the system, however, they do offer phone support.  Healthwize keeps everything here in the United States and has pledged a percentage of their profits to be donated to both St. Jude's Children's Hospital and Wounded Warriors Project.
