With an unwavering commitment to his specialty, the doctor is board-certified in internal medicine, medical oncology, and hematology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). Among his professional affiliations, he is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Hematology, the North Center Cancer Treatment Group, the Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group, the National Surgical Breast and Bowel Project, and the Southwest Oncology Group. He is also affiliated with several hospitals in his local area, including Palos Community Hospital & Silver Cross Hospital. 

Hematology is the branch of medicine concerned with the study of the cause, prognosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases related to blood. Oncology is a branch of medicine that deals with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer. A hematologist-oncologist is a physician who specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, or prevention of blood diseases and cancers such as iron-deficiency anemia, hemophilia, sickle-cell disease, leukemia, and lymphoma. 

Recognized as an expert in his field, Dr. Baridi has published several articles throughout his line of work, including ascorbic acid level in plasma and urine in sickle cell patients abstract (Jan 1, 2000), and Ascorbic acid level in RBCs and plasma of sickle cell patients and its role as reducing agents and effect on sickle cell crisis (Jan 1, 2000). 

Outside of practicing medicine, he enjoys boating. He is also interested in health and fitness.
